Site access

Site access dictates which sites are accessible for operators. When you give explicit access to some sites for an operator, they can then access those sites, their subsites and all the chargers connected to the sites in question.

Site access can be managed under Settings > Operators for your operators.

To properly utilize site access and keeping managing access simple, please make sure that your site structure is logical. If you find yourself having to give lots of singular site accesses to operators, you may want to consider moving those sites under one parent site. After that you can just provide access to that parent site and site access is inherited to the subsites as well.

note

Operators with Global admin permission have access to every site no matter what site access dictates.

Access to all sites

You might want to grant access to all sites for certain non-admin operators, for example your call center team members. For these use cases we suggest creating a single root-level site, where you move all your sites as subsites. This allows you to easily set the site access for your operators to this single root-level site, which then grants access to all sites under that. With this approach you also can separate your operational sites (where your call center should have access for example) and test sites under different root sites (where they should not have access).

In case you don't need to grant any non-admins access to all sites we recommend having all your sites on root level as it makes navigating in Connect slightly easier. But in the end both options work completely fine and you can choose the approach based on your needs. Don't forget that you can always change the parent site of any site, so you can easily change between these approaches as needed.
