eMabler Express (Ad Hoc Charging)

Q: What is eMabler Express and how does it work?

A: Express enables ad hoc charging via a QR code or direct link, without requiring user registration. A customer scans the code, selects a socket and pays (e.g. via credit card, Google Pay, Vipps), and charging starts via the mobile browser interface

Q: Is Express enabled by default?

A: No, Express needs to be manually configured. Once your merchant setup with the payment provider (Embed Payments) is complete, and charger configurations (URLs & pricing) are added, you can launch Express within days.

Q: How do I configure chargers for Express?

A:

  1. Navigate to the “Express” tab on the charger page in Connect.

  2. Set the Payment URL / URL Key that matches the QR code or sticker.

  3. Assign per-socket pricing (create or select a price, currency must include VAT).

  4. Save changes and ensure the charger sends meter values at ~30 s intervals using config setting or similar.

Q: How can I test Express payments without real money?

A: Use the test environment provided by eMabler with virtual credit cards. Go through the full flow: scan QR, select socket, press “Proceed to pay”, use the "Prefill with data" option in testing mode, authorize payment, and experience session receipt.

Q: Can I customize the Express UI branding?

A: Yes. Update your company logo, receipt link, and brand name via Connect → Customer Details → Express. Those make immediate changes in the Express flow.

Q: Why should I avoid using third-party QR scanners?

A: Security risks arise when scanners redirect to malicious or phishing sites. Use your device’s native camera app or OS-level QR reader instead for secure, ad-free scanning. Express only collects card details after verifying charger connection.
